Nephrology

At Gleneagles Hospitals, our Nephrologists have earned a reputation for providing care that is both evidence-based and innovative. Working with you, they find the right care plan fit for your diagnosis and lifestyle.

Our nephrologists work closely with other specialists to manage uncontrolled high blood pressure caused by medical problems such as diabetes, as well as a type of high blood pressure (called renal hypertension) caused by narrowed arteries in the kidneys.

We help patients with maintaining healthy blood pressure, maintaining the right balance in electrolytes (chemical mix in fluids), maintaining the right balance of fluids in the body, dialysis (treatment for kidney failure) and kidney transplant.

Neurosurgery

Additionally, we also deal with a few functional problems such as epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, pain syndromes such trigeminal neuralgia dystonia and other movement disorders.

Our neurosurgeons provide operative and non-operative management (i.e., prevention, diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, critical care and rehabilitation) of neurological disorders. The unit has one full-time Neurosurgeon and one Visiting Consultant who offer specialist services at all the Lagoon Hospitals units (including both outpatient and in-patient care). Dr. Chiazor Onyia is supported by a Visiting Neurosurgeon.
